Inspired by images of tattooed style females, Nate wanted to do a continuation of another from the female set he did last year. This is a continuation of the series.
Throughout his months living in Phoenix, Nate found that having balance is key to stay in harmony with change and connection to his Navajo tradition. The butterfly is a representation of that which sustains physical, mental and spiritual connection.
Nathan Begay was born in 1992 and was raised in Rock Point, Arizona, located within the Navajo reservation. Nate is a mixed media artist that creates his Navajo. Concepts that identified how he is. He is very passionate in telling traditional stories of his culture in ways that are different but still portrays them in a respectful manner.
