Medium - 30 inch butterfly
It has been a pleasure to participate in the Take Flight fundraiser for my second consecutive year. This time I designed two butterflies; a medium piece titled “Selva” and a small piece titled “Soaring”.
“Selva” is decorated with morning glory flowers on both sides. They are arranged in the shape of what I think a butterfly skeleton would look like, with bright, day colors on the front. The back has a darker, dusk-like color scheme and green pythons among the flowers.
Born and raised in St. Petersburg Florida, my artwork is greatly influenced by beautiful skies, the ocean and nature. I earned my BFA in illustration from Ringling College of Art & Design and my MEd at Arizona State University.
My artwork has been featured for almost 15 years at the Art Expo Gallery on St. Petersburg Beach and in group exhibitions in Lima, Peru and Phoenix, Arizona. I offer commissioned work through social media. Most works are oil or mixed media on canvas, sizes range from over 4 feet to 10 inches.
