Small - 12 inch butterfly
It has been a pleasure to participate in the Take Flight fundraiser for my second consecutive year. This time I designed two butterflies; a medium piece titled “Selva” and a small piece titled “Soaring”.
“Soaring” was inspired by the atmospheric view over the clouds, as you would see from an airplane window. The deliberate linear horizon contrasts the back side’s vertical free-form abstract design using a similar color palette.
Born and raised in St. Petersburg Florida, my artwork is greatly influenced by beautiful skies, the ocean and nature. I earned my BFA in illustration from Ringling College of Art & Design and my MEd at Arizona State University.
My artwork has been featured for almost 15 years at the Art Expo Gallery on St. Petersburg Beach and in group exhibitions in Lima, Peru and Phoenix, Arizona. I offer commissioned work through social media. Most works are oil or mixed media on canvas, sizes range from over 4 feet to 10 inches.
