Roots of Strength: Empowering Veterans to Grow and Heal

A fundraiser hosted by Rusty Top Farm to support the launch of Vital Roots Foundation, a new nonprofit dedicated to fostering healing, purpose, and community connection for US veterans.

Every day, an estimated 17 veterans die by suicide—many of whom haven’t found support through traditional mental health systems. Vital Roots Foundation is committed to changing that. Our programs provide veterans with alternative paths to healing, aiming to reach those who feel isolated, disconnected, or overlooked. Through therapeutic gardening, sustainable agriculture, and peer-led programs, we’re creating spaces where veterans can find the resilience, hope, and community they need to thrive.

Rusty Top Farm is proud to host this campaign and donate 100% of the funds raised to Vital Roots Foundation. Together, we envision a world where every veteran has access to the support they need, breaking the cycle of isolation and ending the epidemic of veteran suicide. By contributing to Roots of Strength, you’re helping us build a foundation for veterans to experience peace, purpose, and connection.

Donation Tiers

• $50 – Seed of Service: Supports foundational workshops where veterans connect with peers and begin their journey toward resilience. This first step provides veterans with the space and community to start healing.

• $100 – Roots of Valor: Funds school garden projects, where veterans mentor youth, sharing skills and cultivating a sense of purpose within the community. Your contribution helps veterans find value in guiding the next generation.

• $500 – Grove of Honor: Creates therapeutic spaces where veterans find healing, camaraderie, and support, surrounded by nature. This tier builds environments that nurture mental wellness and meaningful connections.

• $1,000 – Legacy Forest: Builds enduring infrastructure and vital support networks, creating a resilient community where veterans grow strong roots and thrive together. This lasting investment honors veterans’ journeys and supports Vital Roots Foundation’s mission to reduce veteran suicide.
