Project Description: A meal packaging event was hosted in the Newbury Park High School gym. On Saturday, April 6th, 2019, 12,312 meals were packaged with the help of over 75 volunteers from all over our community. Each meal consisted of rice, soy, dehydrated vegetables, and vitamin packets that were sealed in packages that could feed up to 6 people once hot water has been added. This project would not have been possible without the financial support of the Rotary clubs of Westlake Village and Newbury Park, our own Interact club, as well as donations from various members of our community.
Rise Against Hunger is an international hunger relief organization that distributes food and life changing aid to the world’s most vulnerable, mobilizing the necessary resources to end hunger by 2030.
