Seattle's Beacon Food Forest traditionally holds large community work party days on the 3rd Saturday of each month, with activities including planting, weeding, mulching, restoring paths, digging beds, and more! This work party, we'll be weeding in the Peach Tree Guild for cleaver(stickyweed), Himalayan blackberry, and buttercup! We've started a massive clean up process in Phase 1 which will likely carry us into Spring, so we'll need all hands on deck!
This will involve plants that have thorns, so please wear thick clothing to protect your body (and to stay warm), dress to stay dry and warm as it is prime "Seattle season."
We started last two weeks ago and have removed at least 40 bags of weeds and invasive species. Here's a few shots of the crew in action from last week!
