Seattle's Beacon Food Forest traditionally holds large community work party days on the 3rd Saturday of each month, with activities including planting, weeding, mulching, restoring paths, digging beds, and more! This work party, we'll be working on some grass eradication and ground leveling in the BIPOC Garden to make space for a new kiosk we've been working on to give more context to BFF and the Garden, specifically.
This will involve lots of shoveling, a bit of lifting, and a whole lot of man power, so be prepared!
Work parties at BFF are led by core volunteers who assist in care-taking on-site. The tasks for each work party vary based on the needs of the teams at the Beacon Food Forest. These tasks can vary in intensity and even be completely different every month. Usual tasks include weeding, path/site cleanup, sowing seeds, mulching, etc. We recommend that you dress appropriately for the weather.
