Friends of the Sedona Library Bookstore Landscape Enhancement
Red Rocks Rotarians are partnering with Friends of the Sedona Library to clean up the area outside of the Friends' used bookstore in West Sedona. The project includes general clean-up, laying weed block material, spreading recycled rubber mulch, planting low maintenance evergreen shrubs and installing a drip watering system. The project aims to improve the appearance of the property and target weed and dust abatement while incorporating low water usage. Phase 2 of the project was completed Sunday, April 18.
The bookstore is operated 100% by volunteers. Its annual proceeds of about $50,000 benefit Sedona Public Library a non-profit 501 c (3) that has been privately owned and operated and serving the community since 1958. The monies provide for enhanced library services such as children's, teen and adult programs, collection development and modern technologies that might not otherwise be available to library patrons.
