Community Outreach Volunteers are key to raising awareness about Alzheimer’s disease at community events. Community Outreach Volunteers represent Alzheimer’s Orange County at Health and Wellness fairs and community events, provide materials and basic information about our no-cost programs and services, and provide public awareness, education, and support to Orange County’s communities.
Health Fairs are sponsored by cities, companies, and other organizations so that individuals may attend and have access to valuable information and services. They include, but are not limited to, community health expos, 5k walk events, community fairs, educational events, etc.
Volunteers attend a training session and shadow current volunteers at several events before attending events on their own. We are seeking volunteers with excellent interpersonal skills and reliable transportation. Volunteers must be 18+ years of age and are required to complete HIPAA training and a background check.
Volunteers are asked to commit to at least two events per month for a period of 12 months. Events are generally scheduled mid-week between 7:00 AM and 8:00 PM and on weekends. Events average about 4 hours in…
