This painting is a fusion of my love for the ocean and my Western heritage. In Greek mythology, Calypso was the sea nymph who entranced Odysseus, holding him captive on her island for years, torn between love and destiny. ‘Forgive me’ reflects my struggle—drawn to the endless pull of the ocean, yet bound to the call of my Western roots, much like Odysseus yearning for home.
