Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Event!
You have a power to continue with Carlsbad's annual tradition of Christmas Tree Lighting at the Carlsbad Fair, in the heart of the Village. This is a magical time when our family, friends & neighbors can gather for holiday cheer, celebration of love, kindness and respect, while lighting the tree, a symbol of hope and new beginnings. For many kids in our community this is the only Christmas celebration they experience during the holiday season.
The festivities begin with the arrival of Santa Claus in an antique fire engine, accompanied by Mrs. Claus and his trusty elf, followed by Mayor of City of Carlsbad. Santa and Mrs. Claus hand out free candy canes to children. As the children line up for free visits and photos with Santa, the entertainment starts with the holiday music and carols performed by local high school music bands, choirs and dance teams. Free cookies, coffee, and cider is served, and kids are able to enjoy story-telling and crafts, courtesy of the Carlsbad Library’s Learning Center. Allt eh proceeds from the event support our local families and children in need.
