Chili Cook-Off RULES

  1. Each club that chooses to compete will pay $100 for their space.
  2. Admission is $20 per adult and $10 per child. Those who pay will be given a wrist band to show that they have paid. They will also receive a packet containing a list of entrants and the names of their creations, a tasting spoon, and 3 tickets for them to use to vote for their 3 favorite Chilies.
  3. Each club can enter as many types of chili as they wish. (Ex: Red Chili, Veggie Chili, Green Chili, etc.)  Please be sure to make 5-6 Gallons of chili for the competition.  Also note that there are no electrical outlets available, so please bring Sterno cans to keep your chili warm or a very small propane stove.  They do not allow large burners to be used so the more compact the better.
  4. Chili may contain any combination of meat and/or vegetables; beans are optional.
  5. Each type of chili must have a name (Ex: Chef Marla’s 6 Chile Chili)
  6. Each club that enters the competition must do so by October 7, 2023 and submit how many types of chili they are entering and the names of their creations.
  7. Tasting cups will be distributed to all competitors at check-in.
  8.  Winners will be announced at 2 pm.
  9.  There will be two competitions.
    1. People's Choice: *NEW for this year--there will be 2 categories in People's Choice.  Vegetarian and Chili with Meat.  For the People’s Choice, please have a receptacle with the name of each of your chilies so attendees can pace their tickets in them. You may decorate these any way you choose. These will be collected at 2 pm so the tickets can be counted. Please keep in mind that this is a fundraiser so we ask that you only allow people to taste if they are wearing a wrist band. Condiments may be made available to tasters only for this part of the competition.
    2. For the Judged Competition, judging cups will be brought to each booth by 11 am. They are to be filled on the spot so the volunteers can take them to the judges. The cups will be numbered so the judges will not know which club they came from. Chili that goes the judges MAY NOT have any condiments or garnishes or they will be disqualified. After the judges taste all of the entrants’ chilies, they will narrow it down to the top 6 and send out more judging cups at approximately 1pm so they can pick the winners.

Thank you for your generosity.
