The Environmental Rotary Club of delighted to present the movie Food for the Rest of Us in a virtual screen on January 8, 2022. The event will be a joint fundraiser with the Environmental Rotary Club of Puget Sound and Harvest Against Hunger.

Food for the Rest of Us is a feature film that presents 4 stories of people living life on their own terms, serving as leaders who are lending their voice to the underdog and leading a revolution to a better world, from the ground up! An Indigenous-owned, youth run organic farm in Hawaii, and Black urban grower in Kansas City who runs a land-farm at East High School, A female Kosher Butcher in Colorado working with the Queer Community and an Inuit community on the Arctic Coast who are adapting to climate change with a community garden in a small geodesic dome.

In Washington, roughly 2 million people turn to food pantries or hot meal programs to meet a basic human need.  Harvest Against Hunger plays a unique role in the hunger relief system by connecting farmers, transportation providers, produce packers, volunteers and hunger relief organizations to move healthy produce from farms and fields to the plates of those in need.
