Less Water

Add a power strip to all electronic equipment to easily turn power OFF when equipment is not in use to avoid “Vampire Energy

Turn on the “Energy Saving”settings on your television, computers and other devices

Lower your heat temperature in home,school or office

Turn up the temperature on air conditioning in the home, school or office

Turn off your ice maker on your refrigerator

Set refrigerator/freezer temps to 35-38 Farenheight

Don't put hot objects immediately into refrigerator or freezer

Clean out your refrigerator more often

Post a sign on each light to “Turn off when not in use”

Buy energy efficient and certified products, such as Energy Star Products

Use clean energy by signing up with a renewable energy co-op

Use rechargeable batteries

Cleaning Green

Instead of purchasing your hygiene products made of plastic, purchase bamboo compostable. (Example, Toothbrushes)

Purchase Organic Coconut Oil and reusable organic cotton cloth to replace disposable Make-up Remover wipes

Purchase unwrapped bulk soap (preferably organic and local) to replace your packaged body wash or soap

Replace dishwashing soap with castile soap

Replace your disposable cleaning sponges (when needed) with reusable cloth or compostable sponges

Use a solution of white vinegar and water for cleaning windows and other items in the bathroom and kitchen

Use home electrolyzed water device for onsite generation of both cleaning and sanitizing solutions

Eliminate Dry Cleaning by washing items by hand if allowed on label or by stopping the purchase of dry clean only items

Use a recommended dose and combination of Castile soap and baking soda to replace laundry soap

Green Transportation

Use mainly bicycle or walking modes for transport

Use mainly public transportation modes

Carpool to work or school

Eliminate your car

Check your car's tire for optimal pressure regularly to optimize gas mileage

Get regular check-ups and tune-ups on your vehicle

Drive the speed limit and minimize fast starts/stops

Use my vehicles "cruise control" when possible

Clean out extra uneeded items/weight in your car

Instead of flying, travel by car or train instead when possible

Spend more weekend travel staying close to home

Fly coach class as opposed to business or private (If flying is absolutely necessary)

Utilize technology to reduce work related travel trips

Work or go to school remotely

Stay at hotels that offer innovative and recognized green programs

Engage in Ecotourism over all and support those companies engaged in outdoor and or local/community based programs

Buy carbon offsets for any flights

Use E-tickets when flying or taking trains when possible

Travel outside of the main tourist areas to support local

Food & Drink Choices

Participate in Meatless Mondays

Go Vegan or Vegetarian

Buy mainly locally sourced foods

Purchase mostly organic foods

Buy only necessary groceries

Start your own garden

Donate extra food

Eat at more sustainable restaurants

Bring a reusable to-go container when eating out

Buy local and ethically sourced honey

Store food properly, so it stays fresher longer
