Here at Bridge to Connect, a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization, we create a bridge to success by enhancing first-in-family college students' opportunities in the technology field. We are driven to level the playing field for the first-generation college students as they enter the workforce. Through mentorship, coaching, stipends, and research, we offer first generation STEM students all the tools they need to succeed in their major and their career.
The BRDG program is focused on 3rd year under-represented engineering students through graduation with their BS degrees. Each student will be:
paired with a highly qualified mentor who will help them navigate the do’s and don’ts of a professional life
provided with a stipend at $ 240 per week
assisted in obtaining summer internship with technology-related companies
required to participate in social enhancement programs and workshops that are designed to ensure that students get exposure to professional soft skills that are crucial for success and advancement
First generation students are under-represented in STEM; 33% of first-generation students drop out of college due to lack of support and financial obligations.
Your donation help funds the stipends that are given to these students weekly. You donation can help these students stay in college, gain knowledge from professionals in the technology field, and pay for their financial obligations, which all can allow these students to focus on their schooling and career in tech. BRDG's goal is to generate a pool of diverse, well rounded and socially aware future leaders available for employment within technology industries.
