The Triqui Tribe-Fundraiser Goal-$7500
About 20 miles from Hermosillo there is a small 2000-person community called Poblado Migueiguel Aleman, where the Triqui’s have lived since 1982. Brought to the area from Oaxaca as agricultural workers their community has continued to grow with children, but they still have no school for them.
3 years ago the Millennium Rotary Club and the Community raised some funds and began to build a school. Walls and footings are in place for classrooms and bathrooms, but not much else.
The Mexican Government has approved and will pay for all the building materials ($31,500) to complete the project but the costs need to be covered for all labor.
While total labor costs are just over $19,000 the goal for our fundraiser is to raise $7500 which will cover the construction of the roof, concrete floors, set windows and install doors. In short, to make all the buildings weatherproof and secure.
Plans are already being pursued to raise additional funding but phase one is our goal-help us get there…
You are invited to learn about the Indigenous Tribe of the Triqui and their survival for their future. Please join us for dinner with traditional homemade Mexican Meal,…
