Trafficking (modern-day slavery) is the trade of children, women, and men for the purpose of forced labor, sexual slavery, and/or forced sexual exploitation. It is an industry worth more than $20 billion annually, far surpassing the illicit drug industry. It is a world-wide problem, but the United States is one of the leading countries originating trafficking victims. The United States is also one of the largest consumers of commercial sex, and, as such, we drive the demand for trafficking. The problem is in our own community. Potential local places of contact with victims or persons vulnerable to recruitment include schools, hotels, places where runaway and homeless youth gather, services for troubled youth, medical services, and freeway exit businesses (restaurants, gas stations).
Please partner with us in fighting this horrendous industry. Learn…
